Ten seniors set to play at Hawkins Field

Ten Sumner County seniors will play one final game in their high school uniform on June 15 when they take the field at Hawkins Field at Vanderbilt University for The Sixth Annual Warner's Athletic Construction MidTN Senior All-Star Classic Presented by Top Tenn Baseball.

Class A will start the action against Division II at 3 p.m. in Nashville and will precede the Old Hickory Bats Home Run Derby at 5:30 p.m. Closing out the night will be Class AA vs. Class AAA.

Jack Shuttleworth, Pace Dempsey, Jordan Weems, CJ Laws, and Nick Pianto will all represent Division II and Pope John Paul II High School in the first game of the evening. All five seniors will play at the college level.

Class AAA schools Beech, Station Camp, and Gallatin will all be in attendance for the nightcap when Ryan Mortensen, Dalton Hall, Thomas Zazzaro, Tyler Thompson, and Andy Denning hit the field.

Hall (Class AAA) and JPII's Ben Brooks (Division II) and Mason Hickman (Division II) have all been nominated for player of the year in their respective classifications.

At the conclusion of each game, a most outstanding player will be chosen and the players of the year will be announced.
