Ellis 56, Shafer 0

Tuesday's round of storms did not slow the Ellis Cougars, as they defeated the Shafer Green Wave in an impressive 56-0 shutout.

"We had a much better offensive line tonight, and this week we really fixed our running lanes," Ellis coach Lawson Watson said.

Both Luke Manning and Ellis Ellis each had a punt return for touchdowns in Tuesday night's showdown - just 12 of Ellis' 56 points. Collin Cook also had a touchdown in the game.

"Our run game was shut down tonight, and having only a passing game limits your abilities of what you can do," Green Wave coach Farrell Zissette added.

Rucker 20, Portland West 0

The only other game played on Tuesday night ended up in another shutout. The Rucker Stewart Rams defeating the Portland West Panthers, 20-0.

With another loss added to their record, the Panthers are looking for anything to ignite a fire in their team.

"We're going to prepare for Shafer this week," Portland West coach Kyle Lane said. "We took some efforts tonight and we are going to build on that."

Shafer also lost 56-0 Tuesday night, so the game looks to be more competitive than not.

"We're getting better every week, but we're not a good enough team to overcome our mistakes easily," Lane addedd.

Next week will prove to either be a turnaround for Shafer or Portland West, both looking for wins.

Station Camp 30, Portland East 8

Station Camp Middle School capitalized on two Portland East turnovers en route to a 30-8 victory Wednesday afternoon in Gallatin. The Bison jumped out to a 16-0 halftime lead thanks to touchdowns by Ryan Oden and Torin Baker. Black scored both two-point conversions as well.

East responded with the first touchdown of the second half. Fielding at the 20, Preston Chamberlin ran 80-yards for the Panthers only touchdown of the game.

Black and Oden scored in the third and fourth quarter as the Bison move to 2-0 in East Division play and 2-2 overall. The Panthers fall to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.
