PUBLIC NOTICE 30-DAY COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING Hendersonville Five Year Consolidated Plan & Annual Action Plan The 30 day public-comment period for the Draft of the Hendersonville Five-Year Consolidated Plan covering the period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022 and the 2017-2018 Annual Action Plan covering the period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 begins March 12, 2017 and ends April 10, 2017. The Plan may be downloaded from the website at www.hvilletn.org/news_ and_announcements. Copies of the Plan are also available at the Planning Department in City Hall at 101 Maple Drive North or can be mailed upon request. A Public Hearing will occur Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall 101 Maple Drive North regarding the Hendersonville Five-Year Consolidated Plan covering the period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022 and the 2017-2018 Annual Action Plan covering the period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. The Consolidated Plan is a requirement for the City of Hendersonville to receive funds through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Consolidated Plan is a comprehensive planning document on housing and community development that includes an analysis of the current housing market, an assessment of the affordable and fair housing and community development needs, strategies and goals for meeting the needs identified, and an annual action plan for utilizing CDBG funds allocated to the City of Hendersonville. As required, the Plan identifies specific strategies to address affordable housing in general, non-housing community development, housing homeless persons, and supportive housing for persons with special needs. The 2017-2018 Annual Action Plan proposes the funding of a street sign replacement program, improvements to the Hendersonville Senior Citizen's Center, planning, and administration activities. Verbal and written citizen comments will be considered. NOTICE CITY OF HENDERSONVILLE THDA HOME GRANT The City of Hendersonville is considering applying for a Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) HOME Program Grant. The name of the program is Housing Rehabilitation and the purpose of the grant is to correct eligible substandard owner-occupied housing located in the city. Rehabilitation work will correct deficiencies in eligible homes and make them safe, sanitary and energy efficient. The HOME grant funds can be used only to address owner-occupied units within the City limits. No manufactured housing is eligible.
