The U.S. Postal Service just completed another successful food drive benefiting the Hendersonville area. Approximately 14,000 pounds of food were collected from the postal patrons of the Hendersonville Post Office. We were very pleased with our community's generosity.
We want to thank Branch 4 of the National Association of Letter Carriers and
their local representative/Food Drive organizer, Christopher Bourisaw. They did an outstanding job. The letter carriers went far above and beyond duty to collect and deliver this food to us. Thanks to Interim Postmaster Jessica Pinager and her staff for all their efforts.
A big thank you to the many volunteers who worked throughout the afternoon, sorting and boxing the donations. Our local fire stations were represented and we had many community service workers. This drive would not be possible without our many volunteers.
We especially want to thank the people of Hendersonville who responded to the Postal Service's call for food. The donated food is now in the food bank of the Hendersonville Samaritan Center and will be distributed to needy families of this area during the coming months. Your help is greatly appreciated.
