The Junior Service League of Hendersonville presented a check for $47,662 to Mary's Magical Place at Veterans Park on Nov. 22. This check represented the proceeds from ticket sales, auction sales and donations collected from the 2nd annual Mr. Sumner County Pageant, which was held on Nov. 5.

Once completed on a site in Veteran's Park, Mary's Magical Place will be an all-inclusive playground designed to meet the needs of all children. The playground will offer a variety of fun activities that will be accessible by all children, regardless of their needs.

According to Katie Venable, President of the Junior Service League, the organization selected Mary's Magical Place to be the sole recipient of the pageant proceeds because "the mission of the Junior Service League of Hendersonville is to positively impact the community around us. When we learned about Mary's Magical Place, we knew that it would be a perfect match."

To date, the organizers of Mary's Magical Place have raised over $207,000 of their goal of $500,000.
