Indian Lake 3rd graders honored for reading growth

Teachers and administration at Indian Lake Elementary acknowledged third graders for their awesome reading growth last 9 weeks. In Quarter 2, 3rd graders went from reading 10,796,704 words to Quarter 3 reading 23,054,001 words. Average words read per student in Quarter 2 were 100,179 and in Quarter 3, they increased to 213,463 words read per student. Books read in Quarter 2 were 1,952 and in Quarter 3, they increased to 3,160. They all received a t-shirt saying "Read" with "Today's readers are tomorrow's leaders!" SUBMITTED
