*The Beech Buccaneer Brigade invites all former band and color guard members to join us for our 2nd Annual Alumni Night

from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. A donation of $20 will get you a special Alumni night t-shirt, spaghetti dinner, salad, bread and a drink during 3rd quarter.

*Free Military/Veteran's Spouse Benefit Program - 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Saundersville United Methodist Church, 710 East Main St., Hendersonville hosted by the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 240. Guest Speaker Don Smith, a Veterans Service Officer, will be discussing valuable information concerning military dependent benefits. He will also be available to assist in filling out the forms. *2017 Community Seminar, a free annual event open to K-12th graders and adult members of our Merrol Hyde Magnet School community. 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Please join us at Merrol Hyde Magnet School, 128 Township Drive, Hendersonville to experience a Paideia seminar. In Paideia schools, Socratic seminar is a collaborative, intellectual dialogue facilitated by open-ended questions about a text. The goal of a Paideia seminar is to deepen understanding of ideas, concepts, and values. Please visit the school's website, http://mhm.sumnerschools.org/ for more information about this event.

October 4

* The topic for the next Explorastory meeting at the Rock Castle visitors center in Hendersonville at 6:45 p.m. will be 'Scary Tales'. This will feature rehearsals for the upcoming 9th annual "Spirits of Rock Castle" storytelling concert. The public is invited to come along to listen and share their scary stories. They should be 10-12 minutes in length. This is a free event with no charge to the public. All are welcome.

October 5

*Key to the City members will host its October meeting at Bluegrass Country Club. The guest speaker will be Kathleen Hawkins, executive director of the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce. Social time begins at 11 a.m. followed by a buffet luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Luncheon cost is $22. Call Pam @ 417-7643 for reservations or additional information. Guests are welcome and are encouraged to come and learn about the KEY and its service work and other fun activities.

*Classic Christian poet Lydia Esmer will be giving a poetry reading from her book at the Sumner County Library in Hendersonville from 1-3 p.m. There will be light refreshments and books for sale.

*The Gallatin Ghost Walk celebrates its 13th year! The popular history/mystery tour of the Gallatin public square and environs tells the story of Sumner County's diverse and exciting history through spine-tingling tales of spirits and supernatural events. Reservations can be made at 615-512-5299 and the cost per person is $15, $10 ages 6-12.

*Silent Auction & Spaghetti Dinner at Rome Missionary Baptist Church, 1277 Avondale Rd, Hendersonville from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Donation: $10, Come dine and shop. Call 615-264-0247 for details.

*The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company will be holding Adult Improvisation Classes Oct. 16 - Nov. 20. Classes will be held on Mondays from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.(ish!) and will be led by Bakari Jamal King and Kym Sims at the Hendersonville Performing Arts Company's Rehearsal Space in Suite 203 in the City Square Shopping Center at 260 West Main Street in Hendersonville. Improv Classes will be $20 per class or $100 for the entire six weeks if paid in advance. To pay in advance, you will need to fill out an application. You do not need to attend the entire six weeks, and can feel free to just drop in on any week for fun and mayhem! You are welcome to bring adult beverages to the Improv Classes and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased at the theatre. *The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company will be holding a Student Intensive Oct. 21 - Dec. 9 for students 1st through 12th grades. (Grades will be divided accordingly.) Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon. There will be evening rehearsals Dec. 11 - 14 with performances of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Dec. 15, 16 and 17. We will be studying Character Development, Audition Skills, Public Speaking, Improv Skills and Performance Skills. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a Non-Musical with roles available for all ages. Auditions will be held during the Student Intensive process and everyone will perform in this production. Classes will be held in the Hendersonville Performing Arts Company's Rehearsal Space in Suite 203 in the City Square Shopping Center at 260 West Main Street in Hendersonville. *A Pre-School Track Meet will be held from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. for 3-4-5-year olds - age determined as of 10/31/2016. $15 per participant includes T-shirt and ribbons. October 28

* Hendersonville Home Bound Meals will hold its annual Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hendersonville High School Cafeteria, 123 Cherokee Road. Cost is $5. The silent auction ends at 10 a.m. HBMP is funded by donations from churches, clubs, businesses, individuals, fundraisers and grants. More than 97 percent of all monies received are to provide meals for the recipients in Hendersonville.

*Key to the City Potluck Supper Club starts at 6 p.m. Enjoy casual dining where you will feel at home while savoring wonderful home cooked food. Members and guests enjoy not only good food but also fellowship and they get to know each other better over a casual meal. Guests are welcome. Come alone or bring a friend. October 30

*Trick or Treat at Drake's Creek Park - 6-8 p.m. $15 booth fee. Trophy for best decorated booth. Set up day of event. Expect 2000+ children. Booths will be along pedestrian trail to give out candy, prizes and play games. Parking available at start of trail.

November 3

*Garlands & Glitter Fashion Show - Fashions by Dillard's with shopping and live entertainment
