August 4-6

*The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company presents Footloose! This is a production of our Summer Enrichment Program and performed by students that have completed 7th grade through College Age Students. All tickets are general admission - $10. Reservations can be made at our website at hpactn.com or by calling the box office at 615-826-6037. Performances will be Fri. & Sat. at 7:30, Sun. at 2, Fri. 8/4 at 7:30, Sat. 8/5 at 7:30 and Sun.8/6 at 2. Held at the Hendersonville Performing Arts Company located in the City Square Shopping Center, 260 West St., Suite 204 in Hendersonville.

August 7

*The volunteers of the "Isaiah 58:7 Share Our Food Kitchen" will be serving free meals for Hendersonville residents from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 840 Forest Retreat, Hendersonville.

August 10-11

August 19

*St. Timothy Lutheran Church at 650 E. Main St., Hendersonville, will be having a Garage and Bake Sale from 8-2. Proceeds go to missions, women's programming, community outreach and the Pastor's discretionary fund to help those in need.

August 20

*Rome Missionary Baptist Church, 1277 Avondale Rd. of Hendersonville will observe Old Timers Day at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Walter and Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest. An old-fashioned dinner will be served. Everybody is invited to go back in old style worship with us.

August 21

*Spirit Night at Our Place Café .10% of the gross sales from 4 p.m. till close 8 p.m. will be donated to the Home Bound Meals Program of Hendersonville. Our Place Café, located at 247 West Main Street, Hendersonville, is a Meat & Three serving yummy Southern Home Cooking and is a favorite among Hendersonville residents. August 26

*Good Shepherd United Methodist Church has paired up with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide food to those in need. The Feed the Need event will be held at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 525 New Shackle Island Road, Hendersonville. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 7 a.m. Registration for recipients will begin at 8 a.m. A pancake breakfast sponsored and served by the GSUMC youth starts at 8 a.m. with the grocery distribution kicking off at 9 a.m. and continuing until 12 p.m. or until all groceries have all been given out. Anyone in need of food or wanting to volunteer their time is encouraged to attend. There are no qualifications to receive.

September 6

*About Book club meeting from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. at the UT Extension Office in Gallatin. Selected book of the month is "Mrs. Mike," by Frederick Backman. The book club is open to everyone and meets every other first Wednesday of the month. For more information, you may call the UT Extension office at (615) 452-1423.

*A new Civitan club is forming here in Sumner County. Tennessee Club organizers invite community residents to attend organizational meetings to be held at the Hendersonville Public Library. The club will meet each week on Thursday at 6:30 and after that to be determined by members twice a month. Civitan is a worldwide organization of community service clubs. Members enjoy personal and professional development opportunities while helping others. Civitan's major emphasis is helping people with developmental disabilities. Civitan funds the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham Alabama that is a research and treatment facility for developmental disabilities. Local clubs are involved in a variety of community service projects based on the needs of the community.
