* The Beech Historic Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, following the 11 o'clock Morning Worship Service in the Sanctuary. It will include the election of persons to serve on the Board of Trustee, financial report and collection of funds for the upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery. The upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery is funded by contributions made by family and friends of those buried in the cemetery. If you are unable to attend, contributions may be mailed or given to R. L. (Bobby) Worsham, 2030 New Hope Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075, or Sarah Elizer Ezell, 787 New Shackle Island Rd., Hendersonville, TN 37075.

July 9

*Southern Gospel family singing group The Hoppers will be in concert at 6:00 pm, at Center Point General Baptist Church located at 1002 Center Point Road, right off Vietnam Veterans Parkway in Hendersonville. Admission will be $15/person. Seating will be limited, so reserve your tickets now by contacting Center Point Church at: centerpointmike@comcast.net.

*Sumner Trails Chapter of Tennessee Trails Assn. will lead a 4-mile hike on the White House Greenway - pathway is paved and smooth. Meet for carpooling in the parking lot of the Hendersonville Kroger in Glenbrook at 4:40 p.m. or at the trailhead at White House High School (508 Tyree Springs Rd) at 5 p.m. For further info, contact Lynn at lynntakacs@comcast.net.

*A new Civitan club is forming here in Sumner County. Tennessee Club organizers invite community residents to attend organizational meetings to be held at the Hendersonville Public Library. The club will meet each week on Thursday at 6:30 and after that to be determined by members twice a month. Civitan is a worldwide organization of community service clubs. Members enjoy personal and professional development opportunities while helping others. Civitan's major emphasis is helping people with developmental disabilities. Civitan funds the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham Alabama that is a research and treatment facility for developmental disabilities. Local clubs are involved in a variety of community service projects based on the needs of the community.
