Last month, the Ace Hardware Corporation announced the closing of five of its Middle Tennessee stores - Hendersonville, Springfield, White House, Donelson and Mt. Juliet.
On Tuesday the district office announced that in mid-October, it would be reopening the Springfield, White House and Donelson stores, which were bought out by business partners Steve Curnutte and Darin Workman.
Both the Hendersonville and Mt. Juliet stores however, will remain closed for the time being, while lease negotiations continue.
According to Kate Kirpatrick, corporate manager with Ace Hardware, the company is still working on getting the last two stores reopened for customers.
"Ace Hardware is working diligently to identify opportunities to serve the communities of Hendersonville and Mt. Juliet, as quickly as possible," she said. "Collectively, the five stores that previously closed were under single ownership by an individual who is no longer affiliated with Ace Hardware."
In the meantime, Ace Hardware still has two Sumner County stores for residents - Tennessee Ace Hardware, located at 441 East Broadway in Gallatin, and Ace Hardware located at 511 S Broadway in Portland.
