George Edward White, 84, passed away at home Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 with his family by his side.
George was born July 13, 1933 in Carthage, TN to the late Arlo and Ruby (Mundy) White. He was also preceded in death by his son, Les White and his two brothers, Hugh White and Bobby Joe White. George graduated from Goodlettsville High School. He served with the US Army during the Korean War era. He moved from Madison to Hendersonville in 1965 and for many years he lived on Forest Retreat Road where he and his wife of 64 years, Marie (Rader) White raised their family. He was retired from AT & T where he worked for many years as an installer and also from his second job at Nashville Auto Auction where he continued working at a job he truly loved for an additional 17 years. Always a "people person", George was very outgoing. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and camping as well as spending time with his family. George was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ.
Besides his wife Marie, George is survived by his daughter, Linda White Midgett and his son, Larry White; his grandchildren, Jennifer Blow (Ron), Shannon Lea (Tim Borowski) and Matthew White; and his great-grandchildren, Mikayla Blow and Effie Borowski.
Visitation for George was held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
A Life Celebration Service was conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Keith Parker officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice.
