The Hendersonville Endurance Athletic Team (HEAT) held its 13th annual Kids Triathlon at the Sumner County Family YMCA last Saturday. The swim, bike and run event drew almost 180 entrants, ranging from ages 6 to 15.

Young competitors were classified into one of two divisions, depending up on their ages. Children (ages 6 through 10) were classified in the junior division, while older children (ages 11 through 15) were placed in the senior division.

Competition distances varied by division, with the junior division having three legs consisting of a 50-yard pool swim, a 2-mile bike ride and a 1 mile run. The senior division distances included a 100-yard pool swim, a 2.4-mile bike ride and a 2-mile run. All swim legs were held in the YMCA's outdoor pool while the bike and run legs were held on an adjacent parking lot and neighboring residential streets.

In the senior female division, Anna Banovac took first 1st place, with an overall time of 34:17, followed by second place finisher Eden Mittelsdorf, with a time of 34:36 and 3rd place finisher Isabella Guillamondegui, with a time of 36:20.

In the senior male division, Samuel Eden took first 1st place, with an overall time of 36:02, followed by second place finisher Bryant Staats, with a time of 36:16 and 3rd place finisher Griffin Hebert, with a time of 36:30.

In the junior male division, Noah Rile took first 1st place, with an overall time of 22:00, followed by second place finisher Porter Dedman, with a time of 22:11 and 3rd place finisher Gabriel Guillamondegui, with a time of 22:20.

In the junior female division, Zara Kocak took first 1st place, with an overall time of 22:15, followed by second place finisher Savannah Hurst, with a time of 23:30 and 3rd place finisher Ansley Rice, with a time of 23:42.
