The 9th annual Sumner County Anti-Drug Coalition Rodeo was held at Triple Creek Park in Gallatin July 14 and 15. The event, a fundraiser for the local agency, featured top competitors from the southeast was sanctioned by both the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA) and the Southeaster Professional Rodeo Association (SPRA). The rodeo was managed by the Hedrick Rodeo Company out of Madisonville, Tennessee.

Professional cowboys and cowgirls thrilled the crowd on consecutive nights by competing in a variety of activities, including bronco riding, calf roping, barrel racing and bull riding. In addition to the rodeo, the event offered a variety of family-friendly activities for patrons, including a mechanical bull, a pony ride, merchandise vendors, information booths and a variety of food and drink vendors.

Despite adverse weather earlier on both days, the rodeo drew near capacity crowds on both evenings. Several thousand-people attended the rodeo, which resulted in thousands of dollars being raised for the local agency.
