HENDERSONVILLE - The Lady Commando soccer team had little trouble besting Beech High School Sept. 28 at the Field of Dreams, cruising 4-1 to victory. The win was between old District 10-AAA rivals, but now that Beech dropped to Class AA, the two Hendersonville programs rarely see each other.

Thursday night was like no other, as the two schools came together to raise awareness for cancer research, putting together a pink out for players and fans.

"It was great," Beech coach Jeremy Cooke said. "To have Mayor Jamie Clary there, it was just amazing. Coach Plummer and I talked after the game and we've decided to do this game every year going forward. We have found a sponsor to buy us uniforms for this game. Hendersonville will wear white with pink numbers and we will wear navy with pink numbers. This was a great night."

Beech finished out its regular season on Oct. 3, notching their 10th win of the season with a 2-0 win over region-foe Portland.

"We are happy to get a win," Cooke said. "Overall I wasn't extremely happy with the way we played but that's okay."

For the Lady Commandos, they bested Ravenwood on senior night, 5-2 and will wrap their regular season at Gallatin, Oct. 5.
