Dear Mr. Finke,

The League of Women Voters of Hendersonville supports Resolution 2017-6 passed by the Hendersonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Feb. 28 in opposition to the construction of the hot mix asphalt plant on land located at 771 Burnett Road in Old Hickory, Tenn.

Thousands of residents of Hendersonville are likely to be negatively impacted by the operation of this asphalt plant. The potential of harm to the water quality of Old Hickory Lake and the air quality of Hendersonville, downwind from the site, are of great concern.

The League of Women Voters supports "the preservation of the physical, chemical and biological integrity of the ecosystem, with maximum protection of public health and the environment." We support the City of Hendersonville's opposition to this asphalt plant.

Lorelei J. Gould

LWVH President
